N. 5th St. Attempted Armed Robbery

**Update** Just following the release of this information, Patrol Deputies were able to locate a suspect in the area of Patrick Hwy. and Ousleydale Rd.

Investigators have identified the suspect as Michael Wayne Lambert. Lambert is charged with attempted armed robbery and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

 

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - Darlington County Sheriff's Deputies are currently investigating an attempted armed robbery at the Markette Convenience store at 1700 N. Fifth St. A white male entered the store around 1 p.m., brandished a knife and demanded money from the clerk. The male had dark hair, glasses and a red bandanna around his neck. During the encounter, the clerk refused to give the male money. The male eventually fled the store on foot.

Investigators have released a portion of the video from the attempted armed robbery and are asking for assistance identifying the suspect.
